This is us…
We are officially well into the second half of the year and we are soooo not ready to admit that! We’ve loved seeing many many posts about Plastic Free July throughout the month and hope the small conscientious choices made by the many for the month can carry forward and become second nature. One of our favourite eco friendly choices are Batoko Bathers. Me oh my if you have not checked these out you absolutely should! Not only are the prints uber fun but they hold you in, in all the right places!
Our 2019 Winter collection has been hand chosen, across a number of brands, with versatility in mind.
Animal print, deep greens, navy and the ever popular grey marl feature heavily throughout.
Take the stunning Foxwood Evelyn Skirt, team with your trainers and tuck in tee plus a denim jacket for a gorgeous casual day time look. Brunch please. Or step into heels and a black cami with a leather jacket and you’re ready for cocktails with the girls.
We’re looking into Spring, the awkward time of year for fashion. Cold. Sweaty. Cold. Sweaty. Layer through Spring with open cardi’s, loose fitting materials and cropped bombers. Don’t forget you can still team your Winter knits with gorgeous midi skirts through Spring. Hold onto that kerchief you’ve been wrapping around you pony tail and wear as a Spring scarf instead. Keep wearing those trusty jeans, just remember the tuck in makes all the difference.
And Rust. Rust is the colour to watch for Spring.
Cooking for our friends and families is something we love to do and we often use our Thermomixes to do it.
Both Nest Seven ladies are also Thermomix consultants, yes we love our Thermies that much! You can check our Facebook pages where we share meal plans, tips and recipes for feeding our families.
This month we wanted to share the Skinny Mixers Butter Chicken recipe. This is a total crowd pleaser! Mild enough for the kids to enjoy, flavoursome for the adults and it makes an abundance! There are lots of steps but they are very easy to follow. If you haven’t tried it we highly recommend you do!
Oil of the month
Lemon. No doubt this is the most commonly used essential oil in the oily world and it’s easy to see why.
I use lemon oil in a glass of water as the first thing I ingest every morning. This not only wakes up the metabolism but when taken internally, lemon oil can also naturally cleanse the body and aid in digestion.
Cleaning products and citrus scents go hand in hand. Why not give a DIY lemon oil glass cleaner a try. It’s a favourite of ours, especially with lots of little fingers touching our windows! This cleaner is affordable, easy, eco-friendly, and doesn’t include harsh chemicals like store-bought cleaners.
Simply combine 1 ½ cups white vinegar,
½ cup distilled water and 8 drops of doTERRA lemon oil. Shake and spray.
Katie from Olive Green has grown more than just beautiful plants…
The gorgeous Katie, founded her business Olive Green Plant & Prop in 2015 with a love of plants for both their health and aesthetic properties. Her passion of using specific indoor plants to naturally purify the air of harmful toxins, which surrounds us in our indoor environments, led to a business of hiring her collection of beautiful pots and plants for weddings and events.
The business has now progressed into long term plant hire, corporate hire – servicing many Geelong businesses, hospitality installations, as well as residential and real estate styling.
Katie loves seeing plants bring an interior to life and offers in home and business consultations to work our best plant varieties for your light and space. Specializing in air purifying plants some of her favs include devils ivy and rubber trees.
You can visit Katie in her beautiful nursery space at 15 Lelean St, Ocean Grove
